Quick guide

Use the chart to make one decision.

The chart is most useful when it tells you what switches in safely, what attack is blocked, or which teammate patches a repeated weakness.

Defense first

A super effective move is helpful, but a safe switch-in often matters more.

Respect 0x

Immunities can decide a turn immediately, especially Ground, Ghost, Dark, Fairy, and Steel matchups.

FAQ

Quick answers

How do I read a Pokemon type chart?

Pick the attacking type on the left, then read across to the defending type at the top. A 2 means super effective, 0.5 means resisted, and 0 means no effect.

Do dual-type Pokemon multiply weaknesses?

Yes. A dual-type Pokemon multiplies both defensive matchups, so a 2x weakness against both types becomes a 4x weakness.
